Strictly by the rules means you should be sending to the address provided with their paypal payment.
Although I've been requested on numerous occasions to post to somewhere else, or someone else as a gift or whatever. I've not had a problem yet.
Depending upon the value of the item (if it is of larger value I'd be asking for a bit more verification before posting), perhaps it is for a Christmas gift and needs to arrive with the recipients name on it.
It doesn't hurt to let them know that this is actually against ebay policy.
Does the recipient have the same surname?

Sounds like the partner has logged on and used the account without the other partner knowing. LOL
Think I'd be telling them that there is no paypal protection if something goes wrong. If the above is the scenario - it could end up not so nice. But the best thing is to communicate with them and find out why!!! Do let them know you aren't happy (nicely)

Have they paid yet? If not, ask them to enter the name and address that they want it addressed to during checkout.
