You probably could, but it might make your listing hard to read, especially for people on phones.

Yes and no... 

You won't be able to simply put an image in the description and have it as a background to your text, but you can personalise / modify HTML templates with your own image to create backgrounds and then be able to type in text (there are lots available for free online and you can modify them with your image, then download the HTML for the finished template).
