Don't think you can but you can increase the handling time which will give longer estimate dates.

Some sellers that posted next day have changed their handling time to 4-5 days and still post next day without it effecting sales.

I am one who extended my handling time to 5 days, but still post same or next day. All it did was fatten out the delivery estimate date. I've made a note under every sold item of the estimate date since extending handling time, and everything arrives either before the first date, or a day or 2 after. None have ever arrived after the last estimate date. I've had so many messages from buyers thanking me and wondering how I manage to get things to them so quickly (as in before the ETA) when others can't.

Another reason for extending the handling time was just in case I do work overtime a few days running and can't make it to the PO. It gives me a bit of leeway.

My sales weren't affected at all by the extended handling time.

Either do as Tippy recommends or make sure you lodge at PO within your handling time so that buyers can see it is on its way via online tracking. I know this isn't logistically possible for everyone. The biggest issue is buyers are asking because they are wary and need reassurance something has actually been despatched. if they can see this and track it from source they wont be uneasy and wont ask the question. It is also this unease that prompts them to tick the late arrival question.

Many local Pos are happy for you to just drop stuff on te counter without waiting for a receipt. Even though you dont have a receipt it could make it more logistically reasonable than queing up every day. At least for the bulk of yoursales.

Ebays late defect shipping system is their roundabout way of pushing sellers into providing full tracking where possible. Extending handling is a work around but it is not inline with Ebays bigger intent, and who knows they may make changes in the future to close that work around.
