Hi eBay community
I have sold two items to a buyer. The 2 items have been delivered. The buyer has acknowledged this. But the tracking status remains as SENT and not updated to DELIVERED. The items were both in the same package. Standard Australia Post with a tracking ID. Why hasn't the status been updated to DELIVERED? Does the buyer do that or does Australia Post do that? I've asked the buyer to update and they say they can't / don't know how? Any thoughts? Does it matter if the status remains as SENT forever?
thanks
Tim

As long as the buyer doesn't open an INR case, it doesn't matter what the delivery status is. Even then they have acknowledged receipt, so you should be right.
The delivery person is the one who marks it as delivered. Scans, actually. Maybe the scanner was playing up.
I don't even check tracking unless there is an issue, so I have no idea what the prevalence is, but what I don't know (or care about, generally) doesn't stress me.

No, provided buyer doesn't open a case as dave mentioned.
Tracking is designed to keep recipient informed during transit and protect seller should there be a dispute.
In future perhaps ask an experienced person before asking a buyer such things.
It could give a buyer ideas of getting a freebie knowing you don't have proof.

All my recent registered envelopes have gone via Austria Post. Figure that one out!
But how, lol.
You can consider that question to be asking either how did Austria Post get entered as the carrier, or - if the answer is I dunno - how am I supposed to figure out eBay's deep, dark secrets.

Ahhh - I dunno what they were thinking with the changes they made, none of it makes my job simpler and I don't like the new page where you manually enter the tracking. I can't copy / paste the carrier name anymore because as soon as I click out of the text field, it disappears, though I can still copy / paste the tracking number to all items in the order, and before I could just tap 'A' to bring up a nice, short list of Aus carriers that start with A in the dropdown, click on Australia Post, and move on to the next one. Now the list seems to include every postage carrier from around the world I have to type in 'Au' for it to drill down and show Australia Post but before it was a relatively quick "tap, click, tap, click" process, now its "tap.....scan keyboard....tap, click".
Why they can't just give me a tick box or something to apply the info entered on the first line item to all items in the order is beyond me.
