does Ebay double dip on shipping fees

I am wondering , I have changed a lot of our items in buy now to post free,

for example item was $65.00 added $15 for cost of post

now $80.00 ,if someone buys this item there paying for freight built into price as someone has to pay for shipping cost,

Ebay charge us a sale fee on the $80 now post Included ,

 If you have to make a label thru ebay using post parcel post label built in on your check out

and the cost comes up at $15.00 , this is added to your end of month Bill , do Ebay charge another Fee on this,

(another sales commision of 9.9%)

if so then effectivly they are taking nearly 20% of your parcel or shipping cost , for this item.

I would then come to the conclusion , that you either do not offer post free, (as stated it is not free we have to pay for it)

or offer post free but do not use there parcel post parcel labels otherwise you get double dipped.

can someone inlighten me as I am a dumb old Ft!

I dont' think so. There is no fee to print the label. Nice of ebay to provide the serive to us........

it's not the printing of the label , but the cost of the postage on the label , do Ebay charge us a Fee on that , say if the fee was $10.00

do ebay charge us .99c  or 9.9% of that charge

The way I understand it is that the FVF of 9.9% that ebay charge the seller on postage is calculated on the amount your buyer ends up paying you for postage of their item or items if a multiple purchase.

So if they paid a total of $10 for postage then ebay will take $0.99 in FVF on that postage.

If a buyer orders multiple items with a total postage cost of $30 but you send them an invoice for combined postage of $10 and they pay against that invoice then again ebay will take $0.99 in FVF on that postage. Its what they end up paying you for postage that counts.

That's how I understand it anyway. Someone else may choose to correct me if I'm wrong.

It works out the same way for items that are FREE postage.

Of course you would have your $10  postage component embedded into the item price in this case. So you would be paying FVF on the full amount which would include the $10 postage component. So the FVF amount on the postage part is still only $0.99.

no, the fee is allready charged in the first place, once a sale is complete..... which is not good for anyone except ebay.....

Let's keep it simple.

1. $65 + $15

You pay 9.9% FVF on sale price. (or whatever your shop/cstegory scale is)

You pay 9.9% FVF on the shipping cost.

Total fees = $7.91

2. $80

You pay 9.9% FVF on total  (or whatever your shop/cstegory scale is)

Total fees = $7.92

1c variation occurs as ebay round down the 1/2c where individual transactions occur.

Shipping cost FVF is calculated when the invoice is sent to the buyer.

Where multiple items are combined on a single invoice, the shipping cost FVF is the invoiced shipping cost divided by the number of items.

FVF's apply to the total cost the buyer pays the seller.

Buyer pays $80. FVF on that total. Purchasng and printing off a postage label doesn't trigger extra FVF fees.

I just checked one of my recent sales on another ID and Ebay rounded UP on the FVF, not Down!
