does Ebay double dip on shipping fees

I am wondering , I have changed a lot of our items in buy now to post free,

for example item was $65.00 added $15 for cost of post

now $80.00 ,if someone buys this item there paying for freight built into price as someone has to pay for shipping cost,

Ebay charge us a sale fee on the $80 now post Included ,

If you have to make a label thru ebay using post parcel post label built in on your check out

and the cost comes up at $15.00 , this is added to your end of month Bill , do Ebay charge another Fee on this,

(another sales commision of 9.9%)

if so then effectivly they are taking nearly 20% of your parcel or shipping cost , for this item.

I would then come to the conclusion , that you either do not offer post free, (as stated it is not free we have to pay for it)

or offer post free but do not use there parcel post parcel labels otherwise you get double dipped.

can someone inlighten me as I am a dumb old Ft!

Re: does Ebay double dip on shipping fees

that is what ebay are meant to do on combined cheaper postage costs for multiple purchases.   BUT, i just got my May invoice and they have charged me triple the fees (so final value fee on postage on your $30 instead of the $10 i charged the buyer)   i have just contacted ebay and questioned it and they said yes they overcharged me and will adjust the fee.   so how many others are paying the extra fees without knowing it?  seems to be a complete wraught this new fee structure

Re: does Ebay double dip on shipping fees

On my May invoice, anything 0.5c & under was rounded down as per Australian financial legislation.

Re: does Ebay double dip on shipping fees

One of my first sales to be charged shipping FVF was sort of like that.

Despite messages, the buyer paid on the 3 ebay auto invoices & I had done partial Paypal refunds for the excess shipping.

I followed some advice in a forum post & phoned in. undefined

The CSO I got was most helpful ... Took details, asked me to hold for a couple of minutes (which it was) while he confirmed the transactions & refunds. As I has used the ebay flat rate shipping system, I was even able to show him on my transaction records where the item was shipped & the cost & what the FVF should have been charged at.

On hold again for another couple of minutes while he checked with a supervisor & he came back & waived all shipping FVF for the sale. Did the account credit while I was on the phone & I was able to confirm it immediately with him. He even declined my offer to pay FVF on the documented shipping cost.

I actually had to stop for a second & double check I was dealing with ebay.  undefined

I mean ... it was prompt, courteous, efficient, productive & generous undefined

The whole thing was over within about 5 minutes ... and yes, it was a Phillipines(?) based CSO.

Sure ... It's a pain in the butt having to double check everything, but at least they respond in a professional manner instead of the usual "tough luck - no way to override it" attitude you get with other issues ......

I have to give them a thumbs up for this one .....  undefined
