does region 2 dvds use PAL

i have had an inquiry whether region 2 dvds use the PAL system as in Australia not the NTSC system used in the USA

All I can add to the discussion is that even if you can play all regions DVDs on your machine you will usually find that the Region 2 and 4 PAL discs are sharper and clearer.

I aways buy from the UK in preference to the USA if I am not getting a Region 4 disc.
