eBay did not follow through on a 'make an offer' listing.

I sold an item at full price, but it should have been lower as the customer asked for a lower price in 'make an offer'. How can I rectify eBays mistake? I cannot talk to eBay help, just comes up 'fix it yourself' answers. No help.

If you had accepted a formal offer, the sale would have been completed at that price. If it wasn't a formal offer, eBay have no knowledge of it.

eBay Help, unusually, is correct - fix it yourself.

I can't even  see any of your completed listings that have 'make an offer' on them

They all just show as 'buy it now'

Was it indeed a 'make an offer' on the listing or did the buyer just send an eBay message asking for a cheaper price?

The item was sold - the seller admitted they accepted a lower price.

We all know what buyers are like - as said previously - refund the difference - keep the buyer happy - as it was an an acceptable price.

Everyone is happy.

If the buyer sends you a PM,  asking a question,  as part of your answer, you are able to make an offer as well.  Even if you dont have it turned on for your listing.

I use this quite often,  if a question or an offer price is made by PM.

If in a PM all one has to do is edit the listing.

In a pm a"" make an offer"" is an option available to the seller when they recieve a pm from a potential buyer, you don't need to edit the listing.  OP didn't specify where the make an offer was generated from.

This ability to reply with an offer only appears when a member makes contact through a particular item. I often have people replying to a message I have sent and adding "would you take an offer of $$$ on item XYZ." You then have to tell them to ask the question again while they are looking at that item OR adjust your item listing so that an offer of $$$ is automatically accepted and inform them of that.
