Hi,
I recently bought a new car part from a high volume eBay seller and the day after I received a text message directly from the seller. The message also required me to reply STOP to unsubscribe from further messages directly from seller to my mobile number.
At no time did I furbish my phone number to the seller.
Is it now procedure eBay give certain sellers their customers personal contact phone number ?

I have had a buyers mobile number appear on 1 of my last 8 sales. The sale item was over a $100, so I wonder if at a certain threshold that mobile numbers are provided to sellers?

Thanks - the newish forum layout - I'm still struggling to get the hang of.
Being able to put a buyers mobile number in the Auspost system for parcel tracking updates will be quite handy

Thanks for info.
yes, Australian seller.
Have had stock issues with a few of the larger Australian car part sellers on Aus eBay, ie - they don't actually carry the stock themselves.
Recently was a new clutch kit costing over $1600. eBay messages weren't replied before purchase, and then after payment sent was told approx 8 day lead time before they get the stock.
Very inconvenient ( and deceptive ) considering most need car parts asap.
...but that's a different matter.
I'll have to search through these different formats more
