Well I can tell you right now I won't be putting the word ebay ebay anywhere on my parcels. They can shove that. I never have and I never will use any packaging or words identifying my parcel as an ebay parcel. I've never had a single parcel go missing in all the years I've been selling. I hand write addresses on my own packaging so don't print labels, nor do I use the ebay satchels. Quickest way to have a light fingered postie or postal worker swipe it

how does it have it being identified as an ebay parcel make it more or less valuable than any other parcel? i've been selling for a long time and have never had an item go missing either.

the advantage of it is that tracking information is more likely to be correct and updated through ebays website integration and therefore, you're less likely to have to deal with penalties for late delivery etc.

I would like to know also..How does it make your parcel more attractive to thieves if it has "eBay" on it? I would have thought that the opposite would be true, knowing that there are lots of second hand items sold on eBay, and most theives would want new stuff, or so I would think.

Well each to their own. But a few points I will comment on. Many second hand items? I think you'll find the larger percentage is new. It isn't the second hand market place it used to be, chinese sellers and large companies selling direct? But new to me doesn't make it more desirable. I also couldn't give a hoot about jumping through hoops to please ebay regarding delivery times etc. when they'll throw me under a bus as quick as look at me. I post promptly with lodged tracking, message the buyers, all good. Parcels posted from WA have to go by road across the country anyway so why lose sleep about it? Like I said though, not worth getting into a back and forth about it. You're welcome to do whatever you like

I cannot comment on the problems (or not) of parcels being clearly marked as ebay but I have had over 30 years experience in the courier industry.

Some companies have all their vehicles signed with the company name etc. making it very clear that there is a very good chance that they are carrying valuable goods.  Other companies are not so dilligent and vehicles are often unmarked.   In my experience the marked vehicles are regularly broken into while the unmarked vehicles are left alone.

In this case it does not pay to advertise and i am ery uch inclined to think it is the same with ebay.

I can understand your point about marked vehicles, especially carrying top brands, however, I cannot see how anyone could determine that a parcel sent via eBay would be any more valuable than any other parcel.
