After that 2nd chance offer had run for 24 hours, the client, a busy surgeon in a hospital sends me the following email:
"Sorry, I didn't see your message until now. Is the ~*~*~* still for sale?"
When I reply to the gentleman, here is what appears when I send the message:
<
Your message wasn’t sent because we’ve noticed that it might suggest a purchase outside of eBay.
We realize that you may not have known this, but eBay members should not use the site to contact each other about offsite sales. This policy is in place to make sure that you are covered by eBay protection programs and feedback policies.

So, eBay, what am I to do? I cannot offer twice a 2nd chance offer and you are in my way when I must have the courtesy to reply to my client! You tell us that you offer us a platform (at great cost to us, I may add...) and you do not get involved in our transactions, or do you???
You are all over us, in an almost paranoid way if your systems suspect that you could be missing out on a transaction, I have a big problem with that, why not invest -again- in your business and change from a single 2nd chance offer possibility to a second 2nd chance offer possibility for such exceptional cases presenting themselves?
You are all over us, eBay you do not let us deal freely on your platform and based upon the exhorbitant fees I pay you, we pay you, us sellers, THIS IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH !!!

Hi, relist your item.
on 01-04-2014 06:51 PM
They are sooo bad in commerce matters at eBay that the only two options offered once an item did not sell in a 2nd chance offer is the following:
The item goes to: 'UNSOLD"
where the seller is then faced with TWO POSSIBILITIES:
" Add Note"
or
" Ad to List"
which lists are:
Watch list

I would re-list if I could contact my potential purchaser....

Answer the potential customer with a new item number....either auction or BIN.
If ebay refuse to send that then you have good reason to really complain.
You can explain to the customer why you had to do that if/when he buys/wins the item.

I should not have to struggle to liaise with a potential buyer (who just purchased a pricey item from me, so I have all the rights to liaise with him...), eBay interferre too much in a seller's transactions, despite their claims...

Just send a message to the id clearly stating you will relist the item at 7pm on Wednesday or whatever.
There is no reason why an email such as that would not go through.
Don't try to use an out of date second chance offer to contact them, instead use the ebay message service.
ebay only wanted you to remove anything that might relate to an off site sale from your email so just do it.

Has this person ever bought from you before?
If so, you will have an email address as part of that sales record.
You can communicate freely thru that medium.

Yep, I sent him the same message at the address he recorded with eBay, the email was returned to me 'cause (copied/pasted): <The following addresses had permanent delivery errors -----> <Returned mail: Over quota>
on 01-04-2014 09:25 PM
I also rang him after requesting his info (in advanced search) he could not hear a thing he said, 'cause of where he was, so I rang again and left a message... In any case, I should not go thru that torture, eBay, I pay a lot for their services, should facilitate my communication, dont you think???
