 building the critical mass to gain audience is a very hard slog.

I think in some categories buyers would flock to a new site because they're well and truly fed up with ebay's search engine being so useless.  I've seen discussions to this effect in certain facebook groups.

Crystal ball says that this fee will be around 90c if/when it arrives here. 80c + 8c GST sounds about right for Australia, just by comparing our insertion fees to the US.
