hi I recently had a bidder who won two auction items
I sent an invoice with combined postage the bidder paid and I processed order and marked as sent
Immediately after this I recieved a message from buyer telling me to refund postage because it was free
I replied saying to check the original listing of items and you will see there is a charge for postage and not free
buyer follows up with another message and pictures of my listing
looks like it's taken off a mobile phone and there are the items stating free postage on two seperate pictures
anyway buyer cancelled immediately and I contacted ebay to try to get an answer as to why free postage was showing on these two
items
by the way of a list of about 40 items seems like the only two with the error were the two purchased by same buyer
ebay could not see the pictures buyer had sent through my messages and denied any fault on their part
I would think this might be a little scam men but buyer has a good track record 2
any ideas as to how this could happen

Id call Ebay and ask them to investigate to confirm whether it was a glitch or not.
I MIGHT also contact the last seller in the buyers feedback and ask a general question re: if they have had any "free postage" glitches. Dont mention the buyers name.
Because, I could photoshop that "free postage" on a mobile or PC screenshot in literally about 5 seconds. *Extremely* easy to do. You dont even need photoshop, it can be done with MSPaint. A photo is not evidence of anything.

hi gtx
is contacting a previous seller about a buyer allowed sounds a bit like a policy violation
I did contact ebay and they really had no idea what I was on about
I get what you are saying about photoshop i had a suspicion of something like that
especially when the order was cancelled as soon as I marked unsent
selling is making me very nervous lately with all the stories I have heard about refunds etc

I had exactly the same problem once. i never ever have free postage on anything, so was surprised when a buyer commented that i shouldn't have sent the invoice with postage. In my ebay it showed free postage, but the item listing showed postage, weird really

I can't see the photo real well, even when I increase the page size to 400%. Is the free postage appearing next to the $15.75 or under it? If it's what I can see next to the $15.75, then I'm calling photoshop. I looked at the ad in the app, the postage amount was showing under the price, next to the delivery estimate. I looked at the mobile version of the site, it was also showing under the price.
I looked at some of the items on my watch list that have free postage and the free postage was written in the same place as it would if there was a postage cost.....that is, under the price and under the amount of bids.
I just had a look at one of the items I just won with free postage and it was showing (in the phone app):
US $6.55
+ Free postage
(approximately AU $8.41)
9 bids
The active listings shows the postage under the amount of bids as opposed to directly under the price.

That's what I thought. It didn't matter how I checked the listings, none had the price at the right. I suppose it could be an old version of the phone app, but I never remember the postage being at the right of the price.
I'l calling suspect!
