What are you talking about?

My post was not addressed to you, and your response to it makes no contextual sense. Unless you are cats, and even then it's iffy.

I have also had 2 people this week claim they never bid on the items at all & blame Ebay for glitches

Thetrick with them is to send them an email telling them you are so sorry their account has been hacked and as it appears they have not already done so you are going to report their account as compromised for them so ebay will shut it down and contact them to get the account back under their control.

I have only done it twice myself and both times it resulted in an almost instant reply that they had mixed me up with another seller and of course they purchased from me and have paid before replying!

Might wash with a newbie, but if sent to a seasoned eBayer may result in some defect action.

Using non-payment as an excuse to spin lies to buyers demonstrates some questionable selling ethics IMO, even in the case of non payers who I have no patience for.

Such ever changing double standards .... lol.

What a load of garbage. What lies have you identified in PJ's post? They would have to pay to defect anyway.

Don't fret Dave.....it was probably all just a misunderstood joke. Didn't you see the all too familiar "lol" at the end of it?

Point taken. We all know 'lol' totally absolves a poster.

your post was the last one so I replyed to it, not really directed at you. I didn't read the rest of all the back and forth so I guess it wouldn;t make much sense but the message is still the same.

it makes a point of what I thought is quite funny with what was said previously, I posted it at the start. As compared to something I said.

In answer to the original question I have found a quite massive increase in the number of non payers. Ebays care factor, zero. I don't care because I sell stuff as BIN, if they have to make up some story so be it, but I really don;t care. Auction would be a different story though. LOL

I dunno why people have to make up stories. Just tell it how it is. I had a buyer a few months ago contact me the next day after she won an auction saying she couldn't pay as she hadn't been paid yet and asked to cancel. I told her it was OK to wait until she got paid, it was no skin off my nose if she wanted to wait. Nope, she wanted to cancel. I had no choice but to assume she had changed her mind, but had to come up with an excuse.

The last non payer I had, which was ages ago, sent me a message 3 weeks after the dispute closed asking if they could pay for it. No chance as it sold when I relised it. They didn't offer an excuse why they didn't pay, they just behaved like nothing had happened.

lol
