why does ebay take a commission on shipping fees?. I have been told by ebay staff by phone to add postage onto price of item & tick postage free. All my items are auctions so if I started item off at .99 cents with postage at $14.80 The buyer would recieve item for nothing & it would cost me more than the item is worth. I don't mind paying commission for final valuation fee 10%. But ebay forced people selling into opening pay-pal accounts. Pay-Pal take their commission on total amount deposited by buyer which includes shipping costs. then ebay take their commission out of the total deposit (item final value sold & shipping costs). Do they expect the smaller ebayer members to compete with all the bigger companies that mark their products up when bought & add their propfit percentage plus shipping costs into the price of their items before selling at a fixed price. Example Myers, david jones, target all have postal account where they can send any item anywhere in australia for about $5.00 how can I being a smaller ebay seller compete with that. We the smaller ebay seller are getting charged commission twice on the same final value fee & shipping by ebay & pay-pal. Could you please look into this matter as it is unfair to be charged twice for the one total price by both companies.
thankyou

Especially paying for a store but only having 17 listings.

and what does that have ANYTHING to do with if buyers/sellers pay the fees?

And once again you show how you lack knowledge but keeping on talking it clearly makes you feel important

How is it lacking in knowledge to state that you are paying for a store with only 17 listings? We can all see that you have a store so how many listings do you think you have if it is not 17.
And just for your information, just because I am not a seller on ebay it does not mean that I have no knowledge of retail selling. Some years ago we had a chain of retail stores.

Everything. By selling a LOT of items, for a HIGH profit, means that I'm not paying the fees. I'm also not paying a monthly store fee and not using it to its full potential. Therefore, my profits are even higher, which means even less fees.

I expect a buyer to have no knowledge of how things work, on ebay, and you are no exception I have 17 different items listed I currently have 45 items listed it is usually higher than this but I am concentrating my energy on another account. Just because you assume something does not make it right and just because you can not work out what someone else is doing does not mean they do not have a plan. Also is has no relevance on the fact I pay the EBay fees not the buyer

Well just because you can not work out why does not mean this store does not make profit for me and serious if $20 a month would make a big difference to your profit margins maybe not doing as well as are implying even if the $20 fee was not making me more than $20 it still would make very little difference to my profit margins. This also has NOTHING to do with who pays EBay fees you can deflect from it ass much as you want but I pay the fees no matter what YOU say.
Serious all this fuss over a $20 fee lol

How arrogant can someone be?
We don't all live under a bridge....it is quite possible to know how things work without actually selling on ebay.

Sorry if you feel I am arrogant for pointing out YOUR assumption was wrong but if you do not like being told you are WRONG do not post about things you do not know it is pretty easy really

Perhaps you need to take your own advice.
