I would like to know how come some larger businesses are allowed to continue to sell even though they repeatedly do the wrong thing to there customers and are constantly receiving negative feedback?
It doesn't seem fair that the little sellers who do the right thing have to compete with these large companies who take long times to post, list items that they don't have in stock, do not respond to customer complaints and so on without any penalties. How can ebay let someone continue to trade on ebay when they receive such large amounts of negative feedback?

It is up to buyers to look at a sellers feedback and if too many negs, move onto another seller.
ebay is an advertising medium similar to a newspaper, it is the buyer that still needs to do their homework.
But if a sellers DSR's fall below a certain level, their selling priviledges will be restricted.

Because numpty buyers continue to ignore the feedback and still buy from them, it is not up to ebay to implant a few badly needed brain cells in the buyer's craniums.

Agree. And the badly needed brain cells in some buyer's heads are not only for looking at feedback, but reading descriptions also. I'm amazed at the consistancy of buyers leaving less than positive feedback for items being either smaller or larger than expected when the size/dimensions/measurements are clearly stated & easily seen in the description.

You have to realise that there are buyers out there that leave negative feedback and low DRS even when it isn't deserved so just because a seller has negatives doesn't mean they where warranted.

I think the type of seller the OP was talking about are the high volume sellers who, while maintaining feedback in the 90% plus range have hundreds of negs.
One of my buyers could do with a transplant! I show my bank details in my listings, they are available through checkout and they are in the winning bidder email. Buyer actually emails me and asks for my bank details so they can pay!!!!
It is not just buyers who need to wise up either, there are just as many sellers who get things wrong because they have just not put any thought into what they were doing.
