Just out of interest, why would you send by Sea mail ? I've been told it can take many, many weeks ( even many months ) to arrive. I may be wrong. ๐

sorry did type a body of this message but it timed out. basically US buyer opened case about not having received seamail and hadn't waited the approx 60 -90 business days. had to appeal. paypal reversed but what a waste of time. in future they recommended I track all international mail whether air or sea how do you do that on your listing for all countries without having to individually clarify?

horizon US buyer chose by sea as the costs are a lot for heavy items as in a vintage fashion mag. I emailed it would be APPROX 60 - 90 BUSINESS days and they agreed. then when it was 6 weeks later they said where is my item and opened a case......grrr!! so the short story is I had the receipt and record of the email transactions but in future either I refuse seamail and/or insist on international tracking even if by air so how do I do that? particularly with the additional 9.9% seller charge added in!

1. Seamail doesn't attract seller protection.
2. There is no seamail service available to Australian sellers.
3. You scammed Paypal. Luckily your buyer didn't have to wear it.
Which part of 45 days that Paypal allow for disputes confuses you most? 5000 feedback and you DON'T yet understand the system? Right!

calm down davewil...
a) there is sea mail to the US...
yes the buyer paid by paypal ( buyer protected) .....
paypal fined in their favour even tho they didn't wait the aust post approx 60-90 business days stipulated. I have email evidence accepting they understood it took that long.
what I want to know is how to write tracking in my listings going fwd....for all international countries.....
further (for the benefit of davewil) I have been selling since 2004 yes but not always international and never had an issue with a buyer not waiting for seamail via australia post until now which is why I want to protect myself with tracking - and am asking how to add it to my listing.

For your benefit - you can't.
Australia Post do not offer a seamail service.

Don't. As you will get an INR before the thing gets past Tahiti.
If people want to buy from Australian sellers they should expect to pay commensurately. Which means trackable airmail. if they won't pay for same, tell them to take a long walk off a short plank.

there is a seamail option. I paid for it, I have the receipt.
AGAIN back to the question!
