how do I put up a classified ad for a boat?

I am not sure if I should put my boat up for sale with a classified ad (costs 19.99) or with a fixed price ( costs 8.00).

The final value fee seems to be the same, $ 60. How do others advertise their sailing boat?

I've never sold a boat or a car on ebay, but I suspect an auction would be more susceptible to bidders or buyers who might not follow through with the sale, as the auction time limit / end would be more encouraging of bidding without asking questions, or inspecting and so forth. 

Although the insertion fee is higher (as well as non-refundable), you'd have a longer listing duration with classifieds and people may be more inclined to ask questions first. I'm not really too sure, though -hopefully someone will answer with more experienced in that field.

I suggest a classified as you have it up for 30 days.

The max with an auction is 10 days.

And start high with the price then slowly revise the price each week.

You can also put in the listing buyers can make a best offer and if they do then just revise the price for them to purchase.
