A buyer has made a payment to my account but it was pending for ages. Now I found out that I can cancel that payment and resend them an invoice through paypal, but how do I cancel the payment?

Why cancel the payment if it has been paid?
If the payment was made through paypal to the right of the payment is a refund button, click on that and follow the prompts.
