how do i enter the quantity so I get a running total of all sales for that particular item?

Hi, I am hoping someone can enlighten me with how to enter the quantity of an item so I can get a running total of how many I have sold for that particular item.  I see other sellers may have sold for example 1529 in quantity, are they listing a large quantity in their initial listing?  Thanks!

Yes - either that or they continually update the quantity available when they have new stock so that the listing never ends, as once a listing ends, sales history also ends for that particular listing.
