how long is a new listing given the tag of 'New Listing ' for ?

New listings are given the 'tag' of 'new listing' but how long is this for ? 24 hours ? 2 day's ?

Yep. 

I removed all immediately identifying details of these listings, but you can see they were listed yesterday, 2 minutes apart, one just shifted out of "new listing" status.
