Looks to me like you did the right thing.  If your gut is saying cancel, then cancel.

I've never had an unexpected bill but I do get a few that I've been expecting :_| .

Re: i havea bit of a dilema

7 days isn't too long to wait to be paid if both parties agree to it but I would open a NPB dispute after the 7th day.

Re: i havea bit of a dilema

I think you panicked a bit.

The seller asked you 1st.

Most people would not even bother asking.

Re: i havea bit of a dilema

I think u had every right to cancel if u felt that was the best thing to do but I would have given the bidder the extra time.

Looks to me like the OP was just trying to sound things out. I am sure many of us have cancelled something or blocked someone when it doesn't feel right.

Re: i havea bit of a dilema

Lets look at this from the other side ,there have been many times when I have emailed a seller with various reasons for delayed payment ,including technical problems or holidays etc,  including International and THANKFULLY none have ever cancelled my bids!

Just one month ago,I was bidding on a technical book, when someone bored through our underground cable and we had no net  for  3 weeks .
I had to borrow an I- phone and inform the seller that if my bid was successful I could not pay for approx 3 weeks and you know what,I received that book straight away...."pay for it when your back on line" Many thanks to that seller.

Re: i havea bit of a dilema

Hi just for my 2 cents, but wouldn't it have been preferable for the Buyer to ask PRIOR to bidding if it would be ok? Especially if your finances are that low quite apart from the fact that the Seller only posts within Australia.

carly_and_judy  your items, your TOS, I say going with your instincts was the right thing for you to do. I have found you to be a lovely Seller and I am sure you didn't make this decision lightly.:-)

Re: i havea bit of a dilema

BUT the unexpected bill may have arrived AFTER the bid was placed.
