A buyer accidentally hit negative when they gave me feedback (I know as I followed up with them& Ihave email corres relating to it)
can this be changed?

As long as you are sure they will do it you can send them a feedback revision request.

If the buyer has left negative feedback in error it means that you now have a defect against your selling account.
If the buyer agrees to have ebay remove the feedback (in a message through the ebay message system) then you need to contact ebay and request they remove the feedback. Doing it this way means that the defect will also be removed.
If you send a feedback revision request the feedback can be changed but the defect will remain.
