The really sad thing is, the seller is probably a genuine new seller (0 feedback) trying to make a few bucks and is going to have a very unpleasant first transaction when the winner refuses to pay. Interestingly, the one that is bumping the bids up is a 1 feedback member who has bid on a whole heap of other stuff as well. I wonder if that person is a professional ash-hat.
It's almost tempting to send the seller a message and warn them because they must be having a party at the moment looking at that current high bid. I know I would be if one of my items got that high!

If this is true (I never saw a previous thread, so I have little clue... ) then I think messaging the seller and alerting them is a very good idea - there's still enough time for them to cancel bids and block the malicious bidder(s).

He must have got excited because he's listed another identical item and that same 1 feedback bidder is bumping the bids up on that one too. It started 2 hours ago and already has 6 bids, 4 being from that bidder. It's gone from $20 up to $405!
It got the better of me and I sent him a message (what I could with the limited characters). I just hope now that it's not a shill bidder on his behalf! Either way, he knows the sellers forum knows about his listing, so if it is a relative, he will think he's being watched.
I explained that his listing had appeared on the sellers forum and that I was worried he may have a rogue bidder. I said that if he is worried about that, he is able to cancel the bids. I also mentioned about opening a case if the buyer didn't pay, explaining that he would lose a LOT of money in fees if he didn't do that. Last thing I said was to drop into the sellers forum if he needs help.
I've probably wasted my time, but I will sleep better tonight!

You could probably get the entire cast round to reenact season 14 in your own home for that 😮
