Why did you wait 12 months?

Surely 3 months of non collection would spur you into action?

12mths have passed, well passed the deadline for abandoned goods.

No need to contact the seller, no need to refund the seller.

Since the ebay buyer did not in fact transfer any paperwork into their name,(i assume??) then it still is legally yours, and yours to deal with.

If you want it gone, sell it to the wreckers. You might be lucky to get another $300 ๐Ÿ™‚

Apart from the tiny fact that it tells you on car rego papers that they do NOT prove ownership.

However, a payment receipt does.

After all this time and worth only $300 (or less after whole year), I think that this item is well considered as "abandoned".  You do not need to send 3 registered letters; one notice in writing (email) saying that if it is not collected by certain date it will be disposed of is all what is needed.  It is always a good idea to give a time limit on collection, and if it is not picked up send a notice saying that storage fee may apply.  I would not even think of refunding in this case, and certainly not the whole $300.
