ebay is not user friendly. Following an email from ebay offering 'free ads' I responded. Ebay asked me to pay $8. I paid via Paypal. Still I was unable to finish listing. Fix this now or I will never use ebay to sell any thing again free or not. I use Gumtree all the time because it is user friendly and does not cause this stree, sh..,

It is very unusual for ebay to get the fees wrong and as already stated the $8 was probably outstanding on your account from a previous transaction. Perhaps for final value fees which were not paid as you do not have automatic payments set up or there were insufficient funds in your bank account when ebay tried to collect in a previous month.

You will be abke to see under the account tab what the fee was for.

If there is nothing on your invoice to explain the eight dollars then ring ebay and ask them about it.

I don't believe ANYTHING attracts a listing fee of $8 so, as others have said, the best idea is to check the account and see what the payment was for.
