non-payment, buyer refused to pay, claiming it was a mistake

Buyer refused to pay, claiming that the bid was a mistake. I referred the matter to the resolution Centre. Then, two weeks later, buyer asked if she could complete the sale after all. In the meantime, item had been sold.

Why can't I leave negative feedback about this buyer, who has done similar before, just because I have referred it to the Resolution Centre? Other users should be warned about her.

Hello,

The reason that you cannot leave negative feedback is because sellers have not been able to leave negative feedback under any circumstances for several years. It has nothing to do with the fact that you referred this to the resolution centre.

Hopefully your referral has resulted in an unpaid item strike for the buyer. If other sellers have also done this and your buyer has 2 unpaid item strikes, if sellers have their blocks in place, the buyer will be prevented from buying from them.

That's how you warn other users about her.

Personally, I think you have dodged a bullet by no longer having the item for sale. I'm guessing that if you had have entered into another transaction with her, she may well have left you a negative in retalliation hoping that you didn't know you would possibly have grounds for its removal.

You've done all that you can.

Without actually naming your buyer, could U give us a clue as to who she is, like a clue to the item sold or someth such thing.

It's happened to me too, they say their kid bidded on it without their permisson .  I hate not being able to leave negative feedback. I end up not giving any feedback.

Your the selling it . if they fuse to buy , you sell it to the previous bidder.  . Important to tell the first buyer that you are fed up waiting and are now offering it to someone else .

In the most polite way possible without losing your head.

Having problems myself today with a casual buyer. taking his time paying up (8 days waiting)  for him to come and collect his freezer.  Instead he now Pays by bank transfer today and wants to pickup tonight.Smiley Sad

I don't think that would be a good idea.

i know this is a week old, but I just wanted to bring your attention to a matter regarding the item.

If you have a dispute case opened over an item you have sold, you can not then sell it to someone else UNTIL the dispute case is closed!
In your case, the unpaid item is still legally in transaction with the original buyer, and even after 2 weeks, if she says she will now pay for it, she has every right to do just that. (sux I know)

I hope she doesnt leave you negative feedback.

If there is more than one bid on an item, and the winning bidder doesnt want the item, you must cancel her win (bid retraction or mutual cancellation) first, BEFORE offering it to the next higest bidder or relisting it for sale.

Also, it is ok to tell us the LISTING TITLE exactly as you worded it, so that others here can view the transaction to make comment on it. You cant put in the item number though (even though some folks do) LOL.
Some of us though, dont need the  description. We have other ways of viewing what you have sold or bought. (if we are truely bothered, which in this case, Im not) 🙂

Anyway...  Good luck with it all.

Its a little unclear if you had actually closed the case.  As janeababe wrote if its not closed you are still required to supply the item, however with unpaid cases, the buyer has 4 days from the time you opened the case to pay.  If the buyer doesn't pay within 4 days, you can close the case and an unpaid item may be recorded on the buyer's account.  They then have no action against you and cannot leave feedback, and you can sell or relist your item  (if you use mutual cancellation they can still leave FB.)  If you don't close the case within 36 days after the listing ended, eBay automatically closes it and you don't receive a final value fee credit.   Easiest thing to do is open a case after 4 days, add them to your BBL, and close it after another 4 days and move on.
