personal information is shown up

Can anybody tell me why I can see all my buyers personal email addresses?. I thought that information was supposed to be confidential. So if I want now I can contact the buyer outside of ebay.

If I remember correctly, the email address only shows for a limited time to assist in any problems during shipping, then it goes.  I could be wrong.
