Hi all,
I had an item listed, a scammer hit buy now. I haven't sent anything etc so no loss, BUT... I want to relist the item. I have emailed eBay, opened a case, and sent the phishing emails I recieved. eBay confirmed it was a scam.
Heres the problem, the only way I can relist the item is to pay the success fee first - $340 - ummm, hang on, this was a fraudulant eBay "buyer", which eBay have admitted to. I'm not going to pay $340 to them .
What should I do? I have reported the buyer, made contact with eBay, but to no avail - and no response from eBay re help on relisting.
Anyone else had an item "bought" by a scammer? what did you do? how was it resolved?
thanks for any advice

Open an unpaid item dispute and close it exactly 4 days later. This will finalise the case in ebay and you get your fees back.
You can then relist the item.
There is no way ebay knows that the transaction was not completed unless you go through the process of cancelling or opening an unpaid item dispute.

Here's the link to a UPI dispute.

If you are a low feedback seller selling an expensive, scam prone item list it as BIN with immediate payment required or as an auction, not as an auction with a BIN.
Make sure you have all your buyr blocks in place. You can find them under the account tab > site preferences > selling preferences > buyer requirements > show
