"making an offer" ?

can the time frame be set by the buyer say if you want an offer on for 24hrs.. if the seller doesnt respond by that time you can move on to make another offer of the same item elsewhere?

or is it not adjustable and the default is for so many days whatever it is?

i have made an offer on a 'buy it now' item but the seller hasnt responded...how long are those offers on for before it switches off?

Signatures suck.

I think you can withdraw an offer if the seller has not acted on it, but offers are otherwise valid for 48hours and expire if the seller does not respond to the offer.

AN offer is just that. Even if the seller were to accept your offer you can still back out of it as it is still only an offer not a decision to purchase. ANd yes the default reply time is 48hr and NO i dont think the buyer can set a time limit.

An offer may be just that, but once it is accepted it is as binding a contract as any other sale. I believe you even get told that it will be binding if accepted.

Dave irrelevant of what ebay says its an offer and an offer (by law) can be withdrawn at any time before money changes hands.

But it is exactly the same as winning an auction or committing to buy a BIN. And will result in the same eBay sanctions if not paid for.

Please don't try to cloud the issue.

The offer can be withdrawn before acceptance of the offer.

Or the offer can be explicitly conditional on time limits for acceptance.
