"making an offer" ?

can the time frame be set by the buyer say if you want an offer on for 24hrs.. if the seller doesnt respond by that time you can move on to make another offer of the same item elsewhere?

or is it not adjustable and the default is for so many days whatever it is?

i have made an offer on a 'buy it now' item but the seller hasnt responded...how long are those offers on for before it switches off?

"making an offer" ?

the seller still hasnt responded, theres about 24hrs left

heres what it says if you retract an offer even if the seller hasnt accepted....

Before sending a Best Offer or a counteroffer, be sure to read the item description, your trading partner's feedback and any additional terms that have been listed. If you have any questions about the item or the negotiation, email your trading partner before submitting a Best Offer.

Please remember that every Best Offer is binding. Cancelled Best Offers are counted toward your maximum available offers. In some categories, you may not be able to make another Best Offer.

It's OK to retract a Best Offer if:

  • You accidentally enter a wrong offer amount (for example, you submitted an offer for $9.50 instead of $99.95).
  • The description of an item you have placed an offer on has changed significantly.

"ANd yes the default reply time is 48hr and NO i dont think the buyer can set a time limit."

thanks

eBay define a reasonable timeframe as 48 hours.

Possibly to cater to sellers who have lives. Smiley LOL

i think 24hrs is plenty enough time

better still if the buyer could set it any time limit they like
