TAKE A PHOTO WITH YOUR MOBILE PHONE OF THE PARCEL AT THE POST OFFICE WHICH HAS THE BUYERS ADDRESS ON IT AND A POSTAGE PAID STICKER, GO HOME UPLOAD THE PHOTO TO YOUR PC AND E-MAIL THE PHOTO TO THEM..THE BUYER...ABSOLUTE PROOF OF POSTAGE...DOES NOT FAIL!!!!:-p
I READ ON HERE THAT MANY SELLERS HAVE BUYERS ASKING..."WHERE IS MY ITEM"AFTER A FEW DAYS OF BEING POSTED,...WELL WE ALL KNOW THE BEST WAY TO POST IS REGISTERED AND SIGNED FOR,THE BUYERS THAT DO NOT OPT FOR REGISTERED MAY TRY AND GET THEIR MONEY BACK AND SAY THEY HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE PARCEL..*EVEN THOUGH YOU THE SELLER KNOWS DAMN WELL YOU HAVE POSTED IT.....I HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM A FEW TIMES AND NEEDLES TO SAY HAVE BLOCKED THE BUYERS......THE BEST WAY TO FIX THE PROBLEM IS EASY.....

I use C&S which gives me proof, once the item is scanned, of postage to the buyer's address. Much simpler, less accusatory to the buyer and I don't even need to shout about it.

That is a good idea !!
I have had four items fail to be delivered by Aust Post in the past few months and NONE have even been returned to my PO box address which was clearly marked on the back of each article.
I have been happy to replace all items for the buyers, but would love to be able to show them proof of the original posting in a photo. This would dispel any niggling feeling they may have, that it had not been posted in the first place.

Technically a photo only shows there's a postage sticker on a package and it may or may not be in a post office. It isn't proof that it has left the post office or it's on its way. It also may not be acceptable to Paypal. Next bright idea please.......

I have asked before, and will do so again, why do sellers give buyers a choice as to how an item is sent?
Proof of postage protects the seller, paypal protects the buyer, and given a choice 99% of buyers will choose the cheaper option if given a choice, and why wouldn`t they? a dispute lodged for item not received will get them a quick refund whether or not they have received the item.
I don`t believe lost mail is as prevalent as some might suggest, The majority of buyers are honest goes without saying, but there are the odd exceptions,
Click & Send is probably the most convenient way to post and have seller protection, otherwise Signature required for regular mail with extra cover if the value warrants it. If the item is small and flat enough then registered letter post is your safest bet.
I don`t think my Postmaster would appreciate a photo session holding up the line at the post office.

LOL Mine either! He already opens a new window just for me when he sees me coming because he knows it's going to take a while. Imagine also photographing every item. I think he'd kick me out! :^O

You'd look strange and stupid taking a photo of a package and I can imagine customers and staff wondering; " Who's that whacko and why is he / she doing that ? "

haha exactly.
Cracking up here just thinking about it.
Sorry OP, don't mean to giggle at your idea. I appreciate the fact you came here to share your suggestion 🙂

Another member has recently said he videos his packages at the post office. He should attach a little spy camera to all of them as well.
For hell's sake !
