did everyone else have a massive drop in sales on the 23,24,25,26, ?
For some reason my sales took a dive over those days and basically went back to normal after, although it is still a bit slow. Plus I shifted a couple of items the have been listed for years with no sales. Very strange.

Pretty average, didn't sell anything on Christmas day which is unusual but other days pretty consistent.

I think there were many sellers that had their sales plummeting on those days Dylan.
I track the sales of multiple of sellers in different markets (ones that I sell in, and ones that I am toying with selling in) and many of those had extremely low sales on those days.
Fingers crossed it picks up now. I had a great day Monday, zilch Tuesday and did well yesterday. eBay is indeed a fickle mistress.

Well it's weird. The store was on holidays for 2 weeks, ending 26 Dec. Sales okay during that time but way down on previous years, trickle trickle, but
23,24,25,26 wham, the lights were on. I have never sold anything much Christma Days ... 1 or 2 things ...
but this year, I sold quite a bit. Strange

Our sales have been very much as you described Dylan.
It has come back up slightly but is now about 30% of what it was prior.

I'm still waiting for it to pick back up. People don't buy second hand clothes for christmas, I've been slow since about the 7th, basically non-existant since the 20th, and finally began getting a few sales through again on the 29th onwards, but not where it should be. Hoping things pick up again back to normal this weekend

December sales where pretty woefull for me. Down 35% on December 2013 and not enough to pay the bills. My listing numbers are up 20 % on twelve months ago too, so that makes it even worse. The past two weeks have been dead as a dodo, but today was quite good. I,m intending to spend a fair amount of time in January increasing listing numbers as I have a huge amount of stock in storage that I need to move. Hopefully this will kick-start some sales again.

Speaking as a buyer only, all the sellers I buy from regularly have mostly BINs listed.....all things I have looked at in the past and not bought, so why would I buy them now?

Theres no doubt that new listings drive sales. I am busy revising old listings and slashing the prices of stock that has not sold for an extended period.
My items are specialised in that they are not impulse buys. Amongst other things, I sell obscure parts for machinery. They sit until some-one needs them. When they do need them, they have little choice but to buy, and buy quickly at a reasonable price. Usually there is not many available, so I can set my own price rather than a race to the bottom with 100 other sellers.
The new year has started well with good sales yesterday and a huge start to the day this morning, so heres hoping for a better year 2015.

I take your point chameleon...my favourite seller listed some new items yesterday which I have duly added to my watch list.
I feel every seller deserves a break but only they can decide when that will be. If they want to sell over the Christmas break then they need to keep the buyers interested with new listings.
If they sell gift type items they are not likely to get much business after Christmas but everyday items are likely to sell while people have time to browse.
It has little effect on me....I am home all day, but my OH only gets onto the computer while on holidays or over the weekend.
