What are the rules for selling on ebay something that has written in the copywrite ..
"The only thing we ask is that you don’t make any changes to the pattern and that all patterns should be given out to the consumers for free."

Going by what you wrote in the opening post, the person who holds the copyright says you can't sell the pattern, nor can you tweak it a bit and claim it is different & your design and sell it.

Are you wanting to charge for the costs of reproducing and distributing something that is in the public domain without charging for the content?

Just checked my links... the below 2 should work.

Craig,
I'm not the seller.. just wanting to know if it's ok for someone to sell things on ebay that are offered for FREE online with the above copywrite notation.
Thanks

Imo, it is at the sour end of ebay. The business of selling copies of patterns, manuals, instructions etc where the origonal copyright owner is unlikely to pursue their rights for token amounts is contentious. There are arguments both ways. Within the rules or not there are always many listings of this nature available.

Thanks.. it's very upsetting to see someone profit from FREE offers..--- or are they the clever ones !!!
I don't suppost there is any way to have them repove the listings !!
