Set it up as ' buy it now ' - why auction so she can only bid.

It sure is...

Just create a listing with the title "Private listing for username" for the agreed price and put the 3 items in the description, add the postage and send the item number to your buyer... and you're done.

OH - add your descriptions to the BIN - and your photos.

Don't want you coming back with - hey 3 items not as described.

I set them up as a single listing for BIN with best offer. The listing price is outrageous, to prevent gazumping. The selected buyer offers the agreed amount, I accept.

There is no way auctions come into it. Auctions are for when you don't know what the item will sell for.

Who would ' gazump ' - if the listing stated ' Reserved for ...insert user name.... - with the agreed price + postage.

Let them know - they usually keep a look out - having discussed it.

Easy.

Anybody looking for a deal. A BIN is available to any buyer.

I have discussed it, and it works for me and my buyers.

My listing don't state 'reserved for...', as, in my experience, this is a magnet for the intellectually challenged. Or trolls.

My way negates those risks.

I have done this many times, I just keep it simple. BIN for agreed price and postage. I title it Special listing for XYZ, add just one photo - the least informative I can find, and in the description write "This is a Special Listing for XYZ as agreed." Send the buyer the item number / link to the listing. Perhaps I have been lucky but I have never attracted anybody but the intended buyer. It is necessary to carefully explain the procedure if your buyer is not an experienced eBayer.

I've used dave's method with 100% success.

I always let the buyer know to ignore the outrageous Buy-Now price and make an offer at the agreed amount and that that offer will be accepted.

If the listing was Buy-Now for the agreed amount and the buyer is 'away' from eBay for a few days the item may be snapped up by someone else.
