What's the point of placing bid on auction if you are not going to pay for it?
Just to waste seller's time and listing fee?
I didn't set any buyer requirement before (I do now), and I end up with roughly 15 items laying there with no payment, all from the past 2 weeks.
How long do you guys wait till you open an unpaid item case? I normally wait for 1 to 1.5 week, is it too long / too short?
And is there any news whether ebay will do something about this?

Thanks for your replies, I also send them messages first, before open unpaid item case.
The thing that upsets me is because the number of non payer is getting more and more.
So annoying.

I think we should put them up against the wall and shoot them!!
Just joking.
Why should bidders have to pay when sellers can end there auction something like 24 hrs before the end with bids on the item because they have caption "advertised elsewhere and may end auction anytime"
eBay is bid and don't pay, face a strike or sell and cancel because you're not getting what you want and everything is OK!
crock!

I have seen no increase in non payers, I had a 100% increase last year, two instead of one, but then I probably sold twice as many items so the average would be the same.
I have a lot of late payers and even a couple who have paid after they have received a strike but they nearly all pay up eventually.
Of course I sell mostly plus size clothes and everyone knows big girls are best 😉

I've had a few and they were also old ID's who came , bought and disappeared.
I wondered if they simply forgot they came back to ebay and purchased or if they play games ?:|
Either way it can be annoying but it happens , it does make you appreciate buyers who pay immediately 😄
