I recently sold an item and as usual I sent the invoice the same way as I have been doing since 2007 then the buyer starts ranting that I have tried to charge them with AU$ instead of US$ and they accused me of charging more buy billing them in AU$ than US$....they then went on to say they will take the matter up with pay pal...So having nothing to hide I said call paypal do what ever....what I find amazing is I sold the item from australia in AU$ and then some how I changed the currency...for the first time ever I was confused as I didn't know I did anything wrong all I did is sent an invoice like I have always done....What bothers me is the accusation that I have cheated an ebay invoice.....then after all the fuss the buyer pays for the item and gives me no reason why they paid and or what paypal said....I refunded their money as I dont want to deal with people like this.....I have reported the messages to ebay and now awaiting neg feed back from this moron .....what a crazy person accused me of cheating an invoice thens pays for the item then expects me to complete the deal....no way why the bloddy hell would I trust this person at all.......another good buyer I guess....

It is against the law and you are now in breach of contract.
Just out of curiosity, would it be a breach of contract if a seller stated within their TOS something along the lines of "reserve the right to refuse service to customers who are...." (eg rude, disrespectful, demanding goods or services outside of those offered etc).
I get that terms like "rude" and "disrespectful" are subjective, but there are probably more apt terms that are less open to interpretation that could result in the same message being conveyed.

my guess is they have realized they were wrong and well just did what they were suppoosed to do.
not sure why you refunded the money - before you would have had a neg and their money (if they were to leave one - but my guess is embarrassment would deter them). now you may get a neg and not even have the money to compensate.
unfortunately, refunding that money was an illegal thing to do.

Maybe you posted the listing on eBay.com?
in which case you probably owe the buyer an apology.
Did YOU check the listing? When the buyer paid, did it come through as $A or $US? For the right amount in $A? It pays to be proactive when buyers have issues - not just tell them to talk to Paypal.

Big mistake refunding the payment, now you will be stuck with the FVFs for nothing!
Obviously they saw your listing through the Au$ and because they were not viewing through the US site there woukd be no US$ equivelent showing and a lot of US people think that if there is a dollar sign it is their currency, some even think Australia is an offshore US island. A polite email telling them they had purchased from the Australian ebay site and that you have no control over what currency a buyer is invoiced in with the invitiation to check that information with ebay would have been the way to go and then once they paid, probably feeling very foolish, you should have sent the item like any other.
You have now put yourself completely in the wrong and will no doubt get a neg.

no always sold the way I have sold no mistakes from my end.....yes I refunded the money back....and if it was a shop on a street I would have called security and have them thrown out.....not phased now just amazed that I was accused of such a ridiculous thing no bad intentions here just letting people know that there are some genuine nutters out there....

It was definitely buyer error - you can't list in one currency and send an eBay-generated invoice for another. If the buyer received an eBay invoice in AU$'s, it's a relatively safe bet the listing was on eBay AU.
I can understand why you would not want to deal with a person who automatically assumes something they don't understand is the seller's fault, and sends abusive messages with all sorts of unfounded accusations, then goes ahead and pays, which - for lack of any other input from them - might indicate they've accepted they made an error, but didn't make any effort to communicate with you again.... But as above, it could well mean a neg.

Gosh, what wonderful customer service, a buyer makes an embarrassing mistake and instead of trying to help them by explaining things you spit the dummy and refund their payment. If it had been a B&M store the problem would never have arrisen, you cannot compare what happens there with what happens on line when there is a delay between question and response and everything is based on how somebody perceives something. I hope next time you make a mistake you get a more sympathetic approach.

in the end I really dont care about the neg my record shows what I do ...I will do it again too, I dont sell to people like that they have been blocked for good....What I expect is acknowledgement from there behalf, its just pure arrogance.

I tried to explain to them that what they said was impossible but they still ran of to pay pal ........the whole situation made me feel uncomfortable and uneasy about the transaction the only way I felt safe was to cancel the whole transaction .....
