speech balloons - can they be disabled?

I don't know if the speech balloons (when mousing-over a topic) are new, or if I have only just noticed

but was hoping there was a way to disable them. Does anybody know? Thanks in advance!

speech balloons - can they be disabled?

wonder why it makes a difference for me? Shame it isn't a proper fix. Worth a try anyway.

It did the same for me, too. I'm on a PC, using Chrome, and after ticking / saving the option to display menus dynamically, the speech bubbles no longer appear on mouse-over, but the menus automatically drop down on things like 'board options', and I also have fewer options for editing posts as well, oddly, with some showing as text links rather than icons.

Problem is, I get no pop-ups when I click on any of the icons like smilies and insert image, they load on the page underneath everything else, and if I click font size...

Just scroll down either side.

They only come up if you scroll/move over the topics, good.gif

It will be a bug.

it won't be meant to disable the bubbles. Or corrupt the icon links.

Tazz, they come up for me on my own posts lists, if I want to open it to read what has been posted after me...trying to click any post link brings it up.

so I need to double, sometimes quadruple click, to get past the bubble from one of my own posts to get back into the thread.

like to post this, now, with bubbles on.

Digi, my posting text box is not doing what yours is. Moving over the options does not bring down the menu in a mouse over, as it would be expected to. The difference between iPad and PC.

so disabling bubble for me works OK.

I know, I was more posting because the option disabled the bubbles for me as well, even though we're using two different kinds of devices to access the forums.... My post editing options haven't gone back to normal after unticking it, either... Smiley Surprised

Rats!!!  This is not what I would call an 'improved eBay experience'.

If they can't be turned off you could at least keep your cursor over to the left of the list of threads when scrolling. That way you won't get bubbles popping up all over the place.

tend to agree. I have switched mine off. Hope it stays that way.

joono, that is true, that works on the main board. But in your own post list, if you want to get back in, as soon as you touch the post link up pops Mr Bubbles

grrrrrrr

well, I can get rid of them, yay
