speech balloons - can they be disabled?

I don't know if the speech balloons (when mousing-over a topic) are new, or if I have only just noticed

but was hoping there was a way to disable them. Does anybody know? Thanks in advance!

Unticking that option made no difference here either. Looks like it can't be disabled.

No difference for me either.  Guess I'll just have to put up with another annoyance from eBay. Phooey!!!  As if there weren't enough already.

hmmmm

wonder why it makes a difference for me? Shame it isn't a proper fix. Worth a try anyway.

Between that...and Turbo Lister not working properly...I think I will cave and go watch some telly tonight!

To be honest, I don't really mind either way. It is mildly useful, although eBay could have made the bubble a bit more attractive.

Reminds me of ca 1980s-early 90s clip art. I prefer a no-frills (or less frills) ebay experience without bubble/balloons trying to leap frog over each other

The bubbles might carry ads soon...with pretty colours...

or am I just being a bit cynical?

Not sure where you are, but in my region, there is absolutely nothing on TV tonight unless you want to watch sports or kids movies. For so long they kept telling us how much more we'd have to watch with the 15 channels and now there seems to be less!!

I am finding those balloons extremely annoying. I was going to ask how to turn them off but someone beat me to it. So far I haven't found a way on windows/chrome.

They are certainly the unrefined, bottom of the barrel type of speech balloon Cat LOL

Just googled. On the U.K. boards, an eBay rep has answered the question.

they cannot be disabled.
