to hawker the OP, it's an absolute waste of time to post or ask anything on these boards nowadays as they are totally ruled by a few and their sole aim seems to to demoralize any new poster.

I have known that Ebay have been doing this for a long time.
I pay money for store that legally should give me 100% visibility, and the proof has been around for a long time,But there is nothing i can do about this.
And directed to the few who have a sole aim to demoralize a new poster like myself.
Get a life and only post something that is sensible,i am not intrested in the rubbish you write here, and stop turning this thread into about you.

A while back, eBay put forward the idea of paying more to get more exposure - where sellers would essentially bid for higher placement in search results.
It's just a theory with no real basis, but that could be why they introduced free listings pretty much across the board - maybe people will be more inclined to pay more insertion fees if they're 0 to start with, and then they can blame the fact that you aren't seen on not 'choosing' to pay for exposure.
In practical terms, I don't think anyone here has a solution, or a real idea how to help. We all just do what we can and wait / hope, never really knowing if the last thing we tried actually made a difference. Smaller sellers such as myself are probably less likely to have / notice a dramatic difference in sales volume, as it's not unusual at all for me to have no sales at all for a few days then several in one day. But when things are slow, I do some or all of the following:
End old listings that aren't getting any interest
Revamp photos / titles on listings that I can and could use improving
Update descriptions
Start a sale
Pick a few older listings that have no or low sales history and no watchers, end the listing then start it again from scratch
Put a few new items up
Sometimes these things seem like they make a difference, and not long after views / sales pick up. Other times it seems they make no difference at all...except to improve my store, I guess.

With all due respect (and please believe I do have respect), I really wish people would stop saying things like that. Maybe there are a few posters here that some people don't find helpful, but one thing everyone seems to agree on is that they are a few. There are a lot of posters here that try to help, and often do help.
Dissing the entire forum on the basis of a few who some might not like so much A) gives those few the control everyone says they have, and B) disregards and disrespects those who do try.

This is a correction of my above post (I said our instead of your). Anyway davewil whoever you actually are. I have nothing to do with your arguament with Hawker and polocross but haveing read through it and having you accuse me incorectly of being somehow banded together with them....well what does that say about you? Get your facts right. Im happy for people like you to have a go at me. Its all in fun as far as I can see.. But I take great offence when being accused of something I have not done! you should be ashamed of yourself!

I lost all respect for - and interest in - what you have to say yesterday.
However, if you would like to accuse me of something, please support it with evidence. I will readily admit that one of my posts in your troll thread yesterday wasn't exactly a glowing example of good forum conduct (the one where I mimicked your posts, funnily enough), but if you genuinely believe the entire purpose of my posts in this forum is to demoralise new posters, then please show me where and how I have done that, so at least I can try to figure out what it is about my manner or posts that is causing offence.
