when i relist an item does it reset the number of watchers

i relisted an item and it very quickly showed 3 watchers, is this from the orignal listing or is it new watchers since relisting

It could be either or both. If the item had watchers when it ended they will still be there when you relist.

The watchers have never carried over for any of the relists I've done, but anyone who still has the ended item on their watch list will usually get an email from eBay telling them it has been relisted, and a note will appear next to the item saying that it has been relisted, with a link to the new listing, so they may have decided to watch again.
