I am wondering why ebay are now putting a 10% fee on postage. I always believed that ebay's policy was not to rip the buyer off with excessive postage prices. Why then are they charging postage fees. We have to put all our prices up to cover the costs. So in the long run it is the buyer that is paying the postage fees. Who's ripping the buyer off now?

The reason for the fee is due to seller (more so OS sellers) that put a 1c purchase price with excessive postage to avoid the FVF.
So thanks to those that do the wrong thing every one else has to pay for their greed 😞

they will tell you its to encourage buyers to offer free postage but everyone knows they are just increasing their own profits
this topic has been done to death for a couple of months now.. it is what it is.. we have to accept it and move on

disagree immensely given that the excessive postage policy and category maximums have been in place for years.
IMO the reason is 100% PROFIT DRIVEN asnd the fact that not many Oz sellers swallowed the free postage guff that ebay tried to push onto sellers board Furphyy IMO

And why would you expect anything else, ebay is there for one reason only and that is to make money for their shareholders. If you don't want to use a profit based company find a charity that will run an auction site for you or list on an existing one that charges no fees but sells practically nothing.
For many years Aussie ebayers have complained that the US site has things they don't, well now they have nothing to complain about because US sellers have paid fvfs on the total amount including delivery for many years now.

I didn't expect anything else if you could point to that part of my post that intimated I expected anything else??......
Sparklz does...... Sparklz expects the rest of us to swallow ebay's guff that their decision to charge a FVF on postage
was caused by sellers who postage gouged......... and IMO that's poppycock... plain and simply profit driven decision...
nothing to do with seller strategies, "level playing fields".
What do you think sellers are here for ? How about
"for one reason only and that is to make money for their shareholders... and... If ebay don't want to entertain a profit based company to use their services then they should find a charity that will supply items for them to auction and sell."

Why don't you add 10% to your postage cost as "handling" ?

and I might add that if US ebayers do not pay a % international shipping fvf but only pay for the cheapest quoted
domestic rate then for many years to "coin a phrase".... you have had the wrong end of the stick......
and it appears that the US site still has many things the OZ site does not. Can we complain aboput that???
