Due to the recent interest in the flappy birds app. I am attempting to list a phone for my daughter. Have noted other phones are listed for sale with the app installed.
Yet I have a notice stating that I cannot complete the listing - all phones must be returned to factory settings, including the removal of the flappy bird app!!!!.
why are others listed and I cannot.

Because they flew under the radar?
Just uninstall it, or don't mention it in the listing.
I have NFI what it is, but surely it is not an expensive app.
But I wouldn't buy a secondhand phone and if I ever did I certainly wouldn't do it online.

Dave, people are going crazy over that app, and it was removed by the developer from the app store a few days ago.
people are trying to cash in.
not realising (or perhaps they do) that Apple can remotely yank that app from any device if they choose to block it completely.
so I would not be buying a secondhand device with apps installed, for the apps.

If you look at everyone else's listings, it quickly becomes obvious how they worked around the issue (illegitimately, I might add).
By all accounts, that game, while apparently a little addictive, was one of the most frustrating out there... as a fairly unrelated aside, I'm surprised people are interested in paying more money for a phone purely so that they can be frustrated by a (currently, but doubtfully forever) unavailable game. o_O

Why did people buy cabbage patch dolls at hugely demented prices?
why do people do anything insensible?
because Everyone They Know is.
anyway, if you want to list that phone, also bear in mind that without a factory reset there will be personal data on it recoverable by anyone with a bit of skill.

It seems to still be available in the Google Play Store. Which doesn't help people who want to use the proprietary Apple system...

I know the reasons why, but I'm still capable of being surprised by such people. Perhaps confounded would have been a better choice of word.

Confounded is a good one 😉
