It appears ebay is trying to force sellers onto the new managed payments system, WHY, when the current system is working ok and with most buyers happy with using Paypal for payments.

Because, as was foreshadowed last year, ALL sellers will be required to register for Managed Payments.
As a high volume seller you already know this, given you would always keep up with eBay announcements.

I do keep up with some announcements, but this is more like dictating that it is the only way that we can now sell on the ebay platform.
Ebay started Paypal and then sold it off and now want to take there customers away again to a new payment system. I do not believe that ebay has the right to force sellers onto the managed payment platform, if they are happy with the current system, there should be a choice.

Obviously you don't.
If you were actually up with current events, you would have found the many threads about this in 'selling'.
There is a choice.
The alternative is not being able to sell on eBay. Go for it.

You are right that you only keep up with some of the announcements.....and it is dictating that the new system is the only acceptable way to sell on ebay now.
Ebay started Paypal and then sold it off and now want to take there customers away again to a new payment system. I do not believe that ebay has the right to force sellers onto the managed payment platform, if they are happy with the current system, there should be a choice.
Paypal was not started by ebay.....it was started in 1998 when it was called Confinity then changed to paypal in 2001. It was bought by ebay in 2002 and sold in 2014.
Paypal has plenty of customers without ebay members, just as they had before ebay bought them. Many of us will use paypal with or without ebay.
Ebay has every right to dictate what payment methods they will accept....and you are right that they cannot force sellers to use managed payments.....they can stop selling on ebay any time at all if they do not want to comply.

WHy did you post this question here? Absolutely nothing to do with announcements or seller releases. Try posting on the selling forum if you want to get more help than is already offered here (unlikely though as it's all been said).

You keep stating that Paypal has a 150 day dispute window.
It used to be 45 days; it has been 180 days for years. It's never been 150 days.

2) the bright side is, paypal has 150days refund policy, most tracking history does not last 150days, scammers will file undelivered report to paypal when tracking history finishes
whereas ebay manage payment only has 30days refund policy
you are right but you are also wrong - even if the buyer cannot open an eBay dispute for 30 days, if they've paid with Paypal they can still open a dispute after 179 days and in your ebay it will come up as "dispute with payment provider "Which is actually worse as you cannot follow up with PayPal directly - you will follow up with eBay and eBay with Paypal which makes the time frame much longer and will be a big increase in chances you will lose the dispute
