Mentioned this in a post but just wanted to highlight the article, especially after reading the November Sales post. I dont make excuses for why my sales are slow and Im sure others dont either but there has been some noted ebay activity (or lack of i guess) where it seems more likely their pages simply arent being viewed because noone can see them.

green-gifts, I just checked on IE8 and I get the same result as you.
Gallery pics for only the first 11 listings on each page are displayed, you can't select any other sort option but Best Match and the Customise View drop down is not working.
What a mess!

We use IE8 with XP and have no problems....Have you tried clearing your cache & cookies etc?....This is something you need to do regularly because of all the changes Ebay make.

I have Norton 360 running and it's always clearing the cache, deleting cookies, etc. But I've just gone in and done it manually too, then restarted the system. Unfortunately, no difference (only first 11 gallery pics show in search results). eBay said that the messaging glitch would fix itself over time, but it never did.
Many buyers would not know to clear their cache, etc. so, it is possible that the search experience is being affected for many, many users. Most people don't realise that IE8 is no longer an ideal browser for using eBay (I was even told this by one of the reps). I prefer it for the interface, i.e. appearance, layouts, interpretation of fonts/characters, etc. but it's looking as though I will need to upgrade.
Any help from other people experiencing this recent search issue would be appreciated (there is another thread on this concern, so it isn't just an isolated problem).

People are always advocating that and I give the advice to do so myself if people are having sign in issues but I must say that I NEVER clear my cookies and cache on any of my computers and have very few problems on any of the 4 browsers I use.

I know the mobile app Ebay has is pretty poor and glitchy and as buyers are turning more & more to mobile devices Ebay will lose buyers very quickly as they don't have to patience to mess around trying to overcome these faults.

I have been posting my listings to Twitter and Facebook thats been very effective.I think its economic buyers want cheaper and cheaper...but ebay sellers are cheaper.

Gosh all these different search engines & settings ie Vista, XP W7, W8, Internet Explorer, Safari.......how do they all link up ??
I wish they would just Standardise everything & put all their rescources into maintaining that instead of swapping & spreading everything about.
I am still on Vista home basics & seem to have a lot of problems with my gallery images [which are from photobucket]. I'm not sure if this is a glitch with ebay, vista or pb. I also notice my screen JUMPS or rolls a lot, and sometimes when I log into ebay the Search Bar is wide & weird looking and at other times it appears as the old normal search bar.
At times when I have gone to sign out the SIGN OUT at the top of the page is gone & I find I have to click a drop down at the left hand top of the page to access Sign Out. Has anyone else struck this or is this standard for most now ?
Re sales I've made comments on other threads & I am wondering if with ebay directing their energies to Safari, as suggested on that article re Trends on Ebay, if people aren't using Safari is this the reason why they don't see as many listings ???
I mean how many people, outside of the very young ones, have changed from IE or Google ???

God, mobile shopping... mobile net use... I'd be really surprised if anyone uses a sit-down PC anymore. I'm a young person but I may aswell be an old fogie - I really hate this whole "mobile" thing.

I never use IE. The first thing I did when I got back on the net was download Firefox. I use Firefox or Chrome. XP SP3 here as it was that or Vista, and I wasn't silly enough to opt for Vista.
And I wouldn't consider myself young. Nor would anybody else except my parents.
My understanding is that Safari is the Mac browser. As I don't have a Mac... Apart from that, there was discussion that any mobile access was attributed to Safari, not just iThings but Androids as well, which is probably why it rates so high.

well iGeorge Orwell in his book 1984 got it right davewil, I have no idea what these things are lol ...how embarressing !
'not just iThings but Androids as well, which is probably why it rates so high'.
So what search enging is ebay using as its main advertising board ?
