I received a nice automatically generated your item has been posted from an ebay us buy.
I wonder if its possible in the aus system to set it up to say similar.
at the top
it said hello ....
thank you for your purchase of ......
it has been posted .....
blah blah... have a wonderful day....
ok it doesn't need to have in all the form fills but it was so personable I thought it was a lovely touch. is it possible to "easily" set this up in our settings or only with certain manager tools.
imagine if fred got a thank you for his diamond necklace and sally got a thanks for her gumboots but still...

I have no idea how it is set up, but I get emails like that from the majority of sellers that I deal with.

i get the general your item has been posted emails but have never noticed it this personalised.

It depends on the individual seller of course, but I would say I get far more personalised ones than just the standard ebay issue.

I think it is great to get a POSTED email - never mind about personalised
It is so easy now to mark the item posted - and put in the tracking number if it is a parcel - puts the buyer's mind at rest
And saves all those emails - have you posted my parcel? What is the tracking number? generally making myself a nuisance.
I have had several irate replies from sellers saying - yes its posted - you didn't pay for tracking so there is no number,
which is just fairydust because all parcels have tracking numbers now - why don't they know that?
And no, I don't mean the few that go as letters.

Go to Account > Manage communication with buyers, then click on the "Order is updated with postage information" email, to the right will be a preview, and underneath is "Add a message". Click that, and you can customise a message that is in every email. If you select from the options to the right, eBay will automatically include the details relevant to that buyers purchase. It doesn't have item title anymore (I used to be able to select that when you could send emails in bulk via selling manager), but it does have item number.

Actually, unless things have changed recently, not all parcels have tracking. Australia Post contract rates (not eParcel) do not include tracking as a standard feature. There was a bit of hoopla about that when tracking was introduced as standard on all other parcel services.

nope - my preview doesn't have a "add a message" option

That's odd. On mine, the preview itself doesn't, but the link is there underneath the sample pic (not enlarged view). It's an option on all mine except for the payment and feedback reminders.
