I was asked by a seller (of a thermostat) to get a report from an appliance repair company that found the thermostat to be faulty. I've asked for the report but have yet to get an answer (the repair was attempted a few days before Christmas and people have been away from work on holiday, or isolating, or sick due to Omicron here in Australia.
EBay sent me a return label that I did not use (for reasons given above) and closed the case. I'd like to ask for an extension of time.
You should have ignored the seller & returned the item.
You would need to go through "eBay help" at the top of the page, then scroll down on that link for the "contact us" option.
I doubt they will be sympathetic though because you could have sent the item back and emailed the report to the seller when you received it.
