Stop opening new window for each item i look at

This has been going on for a while now, every time i look at a different item ebay has to open a new tab, if i look at 20 items i have 20 tabs open, how do i stop this from happening, many people have this problem but as yet there is no answer that i can find to stop it

I don't know the OP, but I had the right settings, and it just happened sometimes (suddenly, so obviously unrelated to settings), although it hasn't happened for quite a while.

Another scenario that happened to me were pages opening in new tabs AND multiple items being selected in  Windows Explorer when I only selected one. Rebooting always fixed the problem. (This had to do with the mouse, not the browser.)
