Why am I being asked to check my address with every item I buy?

My delivery address has remained unchanged for 10 years.

Suddenly I find myself being asked to check, that is fill in, my address with every invoice I pay.

Very irritating and time consuming.

I have never been asked to fill in my address, just to check that it is correct, so this is very puzzling. Is there some way your address is written that the system does not like, for example, it doesn't like "Victoria" is must be "VIC",  it doesn't like "Road" it must be "Rd", These are just a couple of examples, we must all fit into what other people set their computers to recognize, most of it abbreviations. I constantly run foul of these things. The one that gets me, is that my landline phone number is called "invalid"

There have been a number of reports of incorrect delivery addresses being given to sellers.

Is it really so hard to check your delivery address every time you pay for an item?

My address has not changed in all the time I have been buying here but I still look at it for every item I pay for.

By the way....it is not a good idea to give out your address on a public forum....I will ask the moderators to remove it for your own safety.
