I have had a collection of items moving around with me between Brisbane and Victoria.
I've had sheds where I couldn't park my car in them even though they were big enough to hold 6 cars.
Why?
I don't know why.
But after watching Hoarder shows of late, I've come to the conclusion enough is enough.
In the skip they all go.
Binchy, Patterson, Cornwall, Koontz, Courtney, Cussler, Smith, Cookson, Steele, Archer etc, etc...
They come into the shop quicker than they sell so you always end up with more than you will ever need.
My shed is now spotless and the purge has given me hope that one day I will beat this hoarding habbit I have.

Not a hoarder, just have a small flat.
Besides some of them might sell. Some of those authors do sell, and I generally only stock one of any title.

If anyone is getting rid of major amounts of books it could be an idea to check around.
Some Lyons or Rotary clubs do pick these up and they go to the recyclers.
That way they are useful to someone,:-D

The other thing is that some charities do pulp books and get money for them, it's better than sending them to the tip.

I filled a 13m skip.
In future these titles and authors will go straight into my 3 large recycling bins rather than back to the shed

My local opp's have learnt that the books I can't get a $1 for, they generally can't either and choose not to take books off me and save their skip space for the junk dumped on the door step that some people think is worth something or they're just to skint to pay for the tip fee out of their own pockets and expect a charity to pick up the bill for them

We sell box lots of books at the op shop. I put similar genres together (all crime/all fantasy, etc) and sell for $4 a box. Gets rid of them out of the back of the shop and I always make sure there are a few good gems in the box with the run of the mill authors.
The rest I recycle in the council recycle bin.

The best opp shops are know by what they throw out, not what they keep.
Bit like online stores, some are full of crap, while some are like a treasure trove of goodies.
